Congress to Decide Fate of Fannie and Freddie

This article states that, when it returns to session, Congress will tackling the issue of how the government will be involved in housing finance. It also details how private investors have virtually fled from mortage backed bonds due to a distrust of Wall Street.
This is pretty scary stuff as it appears Wall Street will not admit to any problems in how they handled mortgages and, in fact, state that the problems are and were “insignifigant”. It appears that they have forgotten that it was their practices that greatly contributed, if not caused, the housing meltdown in the first place.
Hopefully, WE have not forgotten!
