Pat Attention to Your Listing Pictures

I ran across this article and it got my juices going because it is my number one pet peeve I have with my “peers”. I don’t know about the areas that you work in, but the Greater Phoenix area, Maricopa Arizona in particular, is a perfect example of realtors (and I use the term lightly) being either too lazy or too uneducated (I was going to say stupid) to post quality photos that are representative of the property.

Only recently did our MLS require at least one photo, that being a shot of the home from the street. Before then, there were way too many listings without any photo at all. I have been strongly advocating at least 6 photos but so far it has fallen on deaf ears. ALL of my listings have at least 12 photos, even if it is a broken down and heavily lived in Manufactured home that probably should be bulldozed.

The other beef I have I is the quailty of pics. Grainy, dark, pixelated: the list goes on. Also many are not downloaded properly so even good pics sometimes are truly thimbnails. Check your listing after you upload it to ensure your pics are of high quality.

Remember this: the pictures you take of a home are not only representative of the property, they are also repsrentative of your level of professionalism. If you don’t have the time or knowledge to shoot and post a full set of pics, find someone that can do that for you. OR, do us all a favor and find another career!
